The Mindanao Institute of Healthcare Professionals (MIHP) offers accredited and flexible online nursing and healthcare programs designed for students across the Philippines and abroad—especially in underserved and remote areas like the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
To qualify for our online learning programs, applicants must meet specific academic and technical requirements, as well as submit a formal justification for choosing online classes over traditional face-to-face formats.
General Admission Requirements (BSN & ADN – Online Format)
To be eligible for admission into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) programs under the online modality, you must fulfill the following:
- A valid High School Diploma (or its recognized equivalent)
- A minimum score of 75% in the MIHP Online Entrance Examination
- A GPA between 2.0 to 2.5, depending on your previous school’s standards
- Completion of at least:
- 3 years of high school Mathematics (including geometry and algebra II)
- 3 years of high school Science (including biology and chemistry)
- 4 years of English
- 2 years of Foreign Language
Required Application Letter
In addition to the above, all applicants to the online programs are required to submit an Application Letter addressed to the MIHP Admissions Office, stating:
- Your reason for choosing online classes over face-to-face learning
- Any personal, geographical, professional, or family circumstances that affect your learning preference
- Your commitment to completing the program under the online modality
This letter is part of MIHP’s commitment to ensuring that the online format genuinely serves students who need flexibility due to location, work, or life situations.
Technical Requirements for Online Students
To fully participate in online classes, you should have:
- A modern laptop or personal computer (minimum 8GB RAM, i5 processor or equivalent)
- Stable internet connection (at least 10 Mbps download speed recommended)
- A working webcam, microphone, and speakers or headset
- Installed software such as:
- Updated web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge)
- PDF Reader (e.g., Adobe Acrobat)
- Word processing software (MS Word, Google Docs, or LibreOffice Writer)
- Video conferencing tools (Microsoft Teams, Zoom)
Documents to Prepare
Here’s what to have ready when completing your online registration:
- Valid Government-issued ID
- High School Diploma or Transcript of Records
- Passport-sized photo
- Application Letter (PDF format)
