Educating Nurses for Global Service and Local Impact.
History, Identity, and Founding Purpose
MIHP was born out of a profound vision to respond to the critical shortage of healthcare workers felt acutely across the region. The institute grew and continues to evolve alongside the momentous regional transformation from the ARMM to the BARMM. This history means MIHP’s mandate is inextricably linked to the region’s journey toward self-determination and socio-economic stability.

Dedication to Excellence and Community Impact
Upholding integrity, dignity, and justice in all aspects of healthcare delivery. This involves training students to make ethical clinical decisions and to advocate for equitable patient care, reflecting the highest standards of accountability.
Nurturing empathy, professionalism, and compassion in every student. We integrate community exposure that challenges students to understand the diverse cultural and socio-economic realities of their future patients.
Training extends beyond technical knowledge and clinical skills to robust value systems that serve the community. Graduates are equipped to be leaders who address public health crises and promote preventative care across the Bangsamoro populace.
Dedicated to Access and Inclusivity in BARMM's diverse regions.
Recognizing the geographical challenges posed by BARMM's mainland and island provinces, MIHP is profoundly dedicated to **educational access and inclusivity**.
To overcome these barriers, we have pioneered the integration of advanced online nursing programs and robust digital learning platforms to ensure a consistent quality of education by providing:
Allows students to manage their studies around community and familial responsibilities without sacrificing learning pace or quality.
Utilizing technology to replicate complex clinical scenarios, guaranteeing essential practical skill acquisition even for students far from the main campus.
Providing 24/7 access to digital libraries, interactive case studies, and specialized learning materials, maintaining rigor through standardized assessments.
MIHP ensures the national and international recognition of its programs through rigorous governance and dual accreditation, which is critical for the credibility and mobility of our graduates.
MIHP operates directly under the Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The institute is fully accredited by MBHTE–BARMM, meaning its policies and operations are intrinsically linked to regional development plans and meet stringent local criteria for faculty, curriculum rigor, and student services tailored to the specific needs of the Bangsamoro people.
Crucially, the institution maintains full compliance with the national Commission on Higher Education (CHED). This dual accreditation guarantees that all MIHP programs are recognized regionally and nationally, and that graduates are eligible for national licensure examinations and subsequent practice throughout the Philippines, and often internationally. We also engage in collaborative monitoring with the BARMM Ministry of Health (MOH).
Sustainable Development and Service
MIHP is committed to a future of continuous evolution by embracing technology, fostering lifelong learning, and prioritizing research. Our forward-looking strategy focuses on creating a greater impact both regionally and globally through these strategic areas:
Involves sustainable medical missions, preventative health campaigns, and health literacy programs run in robust partnership with local government units (LGUs) and NGOs across the Bangsamoro region.
Strategic expansion beyond nursing, aiming to offer other critical health-related courses and specialization tracks to meet the diverse manpower needs of the evolving Bangsamoro health system.
Actively involved in shaping policy by prioritizing evidence-based health research relevant to local challenges (e.g., infectious disease management, maternal and child health) to influence government policy.
